Before going for our 9 days trek in the Huayhuash range, we went for a day out to be sure we haven’t lost our acclimation to the altitude. La Laguna 69 (where we go today) is a bit a must do in Huaraz before you engage yourself in a long trek usually always higher than 4,000m.
It is part of the acclimatization plan for a lot of europeans that come directly from sea level.
C’est un peu le must do à faire sur Huaraz surtout pour ceux qui arrivent directement d’Europe pour faire ensuite le trek de Huayhuash ou n’importe quel autre long trek au-dessus de 4,000m.
For 40 soles including a guide and the transport, here we go for a few hours away from Huaraz. The Laguna 69 is located on the wordly famous Cordillera Blanca and not far from the highest summit in Peru at 6,768m.
We will need 2 and half hours to reach the Lagoon. The trek is nice and beautiful. Although when we arrived there, we are welcomed by rain and snow… We are at 4,600m. Hum, I just can’t think we have the same weather during our 9 days trek in Huayhuash.
A few pictures, a quick lunch and we already start to go down.
The weather is not warm, and the snow keeps falling… Really hope we won’t have the same weather tomorrow…
