On this third day, we wake up (almost like every day) at 6am under the rain… Cool.
The map is below. Today we are in yellow..
We don’t see much around us and we start to climb slowly from 7.30 am toward Carhuac Pass. We will reach it at 4,600m under the rain… Cool again.
Aroud 2pm we reach Carchuacocha Lake from where the view is quite good. I wish we have blue sky so we can admire the summits in the background..
We setup our camp on the North side of the Lake. And wouah.. during the afternoon the sun comes out.. Sun… We almost can see the Huyahuash range in the background.. Although we just see the base of the mountain not the summit of theYerrupaja, the highest mountain of Huayhuash at 6,634m and the second highest mountain of Peru.
Even the donkey are happy today…
But at the end of the day, clouds come back so we can welcome back the rain… So we took the opportunity to do more shoots before the rain hits us again.
See you tomorrow,
