As usual, a wake up paced up by the sound of the rain on the tent.
We learn where the name Huayhuash comes from. Indeed it is the name of a little animal that used to live there. It is today in danger.
Today on the map below it is in light blue…
We start our day walking toward Portachuelo Passa t 4,750m, under the rain. And there here we go. The sun comes out… Second time in 5 days.. We can see some blue parts of the sky, and even the summits around us. We didn’t really realize how was it around us.
From the pass, the view is quite nice, although some clouds are back (or they stay)
Once there, we start to go down (still under the sun) toward the Viconga Lake. Our camp is located a bit further down the lake…
On top of this, we go to the hot Springs where we can wash ourselves after 5 days without.
See you tomorrow,
